Le POGO 8.50 est un plan de Pierre Rolland, l’architecte français du 60 pieds Open Bobst Group/Armor Lux qui détient avec son skipper Bernard Stamm, le record de l’Atlantique Nord en équipage et en solitaire. Inspiré des lignes de cette luge faite pour dévaler les vagues à toute vitesse, le POGO 8.50 est extrêmement large (3,60) et très plat, ce qui lui donne une grande stabilité au portant mais le pénalise un peu au près.
Construit par le chantier Structures à Sainte-Marine, insubmersible, crash-box à l’avant, descente de carré étanche, c’est un modèle en terme de sécurité et c’est le plus petit bateau homologué en classe A européenne (grand large sans restriction).
A la barre, les sensations sont douces grâce à ses deux safrans suspendus. Equipé du même grément que l’ancien Figaro, il offre une surface de voilure généreuse mais nettement moins survitaminée que son petit frère le POGO 6.50. A titre d’exemple, le grand spi du 6.50 est le même que celui du 8.50 !!!
A l’intérieur par contre, on peut se tenir debout (fait rare pour un 8.50), on peut dormir à 6 si nécessaire et on peut envisager une petite croisière à 4 sans problème.

The POGO 28 has been designed by Pierre Rolland, the design of the 60 Open Bobst Armor Lux, which holds with her skipper Bernard Stamm the North Atlantic monohull record both singlehanded and with crew. Inspired by the same lines as this sledge made to surf down the waves, the POGO 28 is very beamy and flat which gives her a great stability downwind but makes her suffer upwind in light air.
Built by the yard Structures in France, she is insubmersible, she has a crash box in the bow, the companionway can be shut completely waterproof. She is therefore a safety model and as such has been homologued in Ocean class A (European standards).
At the helm, sensations are smooth thanks to her twin rudders. She has the same mast as the old Figaro and has therefore a reasonably big sail area. It is however far less extreme than her little sister the POGO 6.50 designed for the Mini-Transat. As an example, the big spinnaker is the same on both boats !!!
Inside the cabin, one can stand up which is pretty rare for this size. 6 persons can sleep without any problems and 4 could go for a real cruise confortably
