Children Action has left for another adventure. With Nick
Walters on board, Hervé will sail along this course
and turn around the famous Fastnet lighthouse, The race
was started by Isabelle Autissier on Sunday at 15:00.The
weather forecast will be quite good but they will face the
wind all the time and it's not the best course for the Minis.
Hervé and Nick spent last Thursday and Friday preparing
the boat (buying the food and cleaning). Unfortunately last
week, whilst Children Action was moored in the harbour,
a motor boat bumped into her and caused several problems
involving the rudder and solar panel. This meant that Hervé
and Nick had to spend time fixing the rudder and solar panel.
Everybody helped them in these tasks and Children Action
was ready on time.
On Saturday afternoon, the Minis raced in front of St-Quay
Portrieux. They all had on board a young sailor. Simon,
aged 11, helped Hervé and Nick to trim the sails. They
didn't have a good start but finished 14th of 30 boats,
only 3 seconds behind the 11th place.
